CP Training Courses Wessex Basin Hydrocarbon HabitatThis 5-day field trip to the coasts of southern England shows source rocks, oil seeps, reservoirs, seals, and trapping style to create understanding of hydrocarbon systems. Running as a thread throughout the programme is one syndicate exercise that takes the participants through all the elements of how to find oil and gas. This is an intensive programme with morning lectures and evening work on exercises most days, in addition to conducted visits to many outcrops to study geological features. Sites visited illustrate: Reservoirs: Permian dune sands, Triassic fluviatile gravels and sands, Jurassic shallow marine sands. Charge: Liassic and Kimmeridge source rocks, oil seeps. Structure: faulting in extensional, strike-slip, and inversion tectonic regimes. The visits and lectures are structured to cover the entire petroleum habitat: reservoir development, source rock assessment, hydrocarbon charge systems, and trap style. This fully inclusive field trip includes tuition, use of conference facilities, 3 field trips, 5 nights accommodation and all meals at the luxury Portland Heights Hotel on the Isle of Portland, Dorset. Intended for geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers involved in exploration and production of hydrocarbons, who have to gain understanding of petroleum systems. The course is very effective in building an understanding between earth scientists and engineers regarding the uncertainties implicit in the prediction of volumes of oil and gas. Course Fee: £2,550 plus VAT @ 17.5%, inclusive of full board and accommodation Training courses in this section include: An Introduction to the E&P Business
An Introduction to the Natural Gas Business
Applied Petrophysics
Reservoir Engineering
Production Technology
Introduction to Strategic Management |
