Training Skills: How to Apply 21st Century Learning Techniques to Proven Training Approaches
This is a classic train the trainer course for staff who need to be able to prepare and deliver meaningful training sessions.
A 5-day course
This course is designed to bring the new trainer or indeed a more established staff trainer through the key areas of designing, delivering training and imparting knowledge to the delegates in line with all the best practice up to date 21st century training techniques.
This training is highly participative, enjoyable and a great learning experience. Participants will be taken through the skills required for an effective training delivery and will concentrate particularly on the preparation stages and the training styles available
The emphasis during training will be on high levels of participation to ensure that delegates develop their confidence as well as their competence. The course is based on best practice within the training industry and incorporates techniques that combine high level learning with the impacts of cultural diversity and influences.
Participants will explore the latest thinking on accelerated learning and have the opportunity to practice some of these approaches during the course.
Participants will be required to design, prepare, undertake and evaluate a 10-30 minute training session as part of the course.
Course Attendees:
The course is designed for all staff who are responsible for the delivery of classroom training and the development of staff or working colleagues. These may include those people who are about to become full or part-time training staff, or line staff who are required to deliver occasional training courses as part of their duties.
By the end of the course, participants will:
- Recognise that people will learn in different ways and the importance of participative techniques.
- Understand the implications of different Learning Styles.
- Be aware of the principles of accelerated Learning and the opportunities it provides for workplace learning.
- Understand the critical elements of good communications within a training event.
- Understand the purpose and objectives of the training session and the materials provided (by others).
- Prepare or adapt the lesson plan for the training session that will engage the learners, and assess their current and developing knowledge.
- Recognise their own strengths in training delivery and approach, taking account of pace, speech, responding to questions.
