The role of teams in organisations is now recognised as a vital factor in meeting business goals and objectives. But simply bringing together a group of highly skilled people and then leaving them to deliver will not always generate the expected results. Teams must be subjected to essential leadership and development practices if they are to engage in ways that have the potential to produce powerful synergistic outcomes.
Every team experiences its own unique journey, depending on the team members; the tasks and targets of the team and its working environment; apart from the calibre of management and leadership it is given. Even the same team with the same tasks will have a different journey second time around. "You can never step into a river in the same place twice"
This programme is designed for those who need to improve the effectiveness of a team, whether they manage, lead or participate in a team responsible for either a specific project or for an on-going team at any level of the organisation.
By the end of the programme delegates will be better able to:
- Identify the key characteristics of the team, catalysts and barriers for synergistic team working.

Evaluate the environment within which the team must operate including the impact and influence of its sponsors

Be able to determine the strengths and talents of the team

Describe their own preferred role when working in a team.

Devise those factors that are critical to the team"s success and focusing on planning the task ahead.

Increase the effectiveness of team results by engaging the key energy drivers to performance..

Review team organisation, management and leadership and design an approach that will facilitate the team"s targets.

Contribute to high impact team meetings, whether this is as a team member or as a team leader/project manager.

Understand and positively manage the sources of potential conflict situations.
Some pre-course work will be required.
The learning will be highly interactive with sub-group activities, case studies and role playing.
All participants will give and receive feedback on their effectiveness and be expected to devise an Action Plan of undertaking for when they return to their place of work.
