CP Training Courses Supply Chain ConceptsIntroduction to the concept of working with both suppliers and customers to develop a supply chain architecture that maximises value and rewards the contribution of all members on a win-win basis.Go beyond the traditional activities of procurement and contracting and develop relationships with other members of the supply chain that can add value as well as reduce costs. Supply chains, value streams and sourcing networks are now firmly established elements of the vocabulary of management. The terminology is simple, but some of the ideas behind the words are rather complex. For example: "what is value?", "How does the value stream flow?" and "how can we reconcile competitive bidding with mutual relationships?" An ability to meet the buyer's criteria relating to factors such as price, quality and timeliness is today regarded as the minimum 'entry' requirement for consideration of a potential supplier and for a role in the harmonized supply chain as a member of the structured entity co-ordinating flows of materials, information and money.
