A one-day course that covers the essential elements of the tendering process.

This course is relevant for operational personnel who have responsibility for managing the tendering process so as to identify the best-qualified contractor / supplier for the work. At the same time they must ensure that the process is fair and transparent.
This course is designed for:  all staff, including operational staff, who need to understand the core process of this tendering procedure; as well as procurement officers, junior buyers and buyers in either the public or private sector who have the responsibility for undertaking this process.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to
  • Understand the different stages of the procurement cycle.
  • Manage the ITT process.
  • Understand the main elements of a contract.
  • Appreciate the importance of specifications and standard terms and conditions.
  • Be aware of the need for well-developed tender evaluation criteria.
  • Understand the need for supplier feedback and supplier debriefing.
Topics covered during this course will include:
  • The procurement cycle as a complete process.
  • The different stages of the procurement cycle.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • The structure of ITT’s and the processes.
  • Basics of contract law
  • Managing the whole process and planning the work.
  • Exercises
This course is intended to be hands on and will be in the form of a workshop so participants will have the opportunity to practice evaluating tenders and answering case studies.

They will have an opportunity to ask questions and resolve any issues.

Participants will be able to develop solutions and templates within the class. 

This course will be conducted in the English language.
