This course provides experienced senior logistics management staff with the underpinning knowledge that equips them to make informed decisions about the size, structure and acquisition alternatives in the provision of logistics resources in support of the business. The course is also important for staff moving into the management of logistics from other parts of the business.
Course Objectives. By the end of the course participants will: • Understand the concept of integrated logistics within the context of supply chain management in a 21st century business environment. • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of the components of logistics on their return to their organisations, and provide enhanced support and leadership to their colleagues in the management of upstream/inbound logistics • Be have the ability effectively to use checklists and models for planning and performance improvement. • Be able to devise and utilise effective measures of performance within their specific working environments • Be able to demonstrate the methodologies available which will facilitate the critical analysis and evaluation of logistics operations and the application of best practice solutions • Have practiced collaborative working in a risk-free environment.
