PLANNING AND THE MANAGEMENT OF RISK

Planning, scheduling and risk management for line managers.

A 5-day course

This course is designed to give staff the skills required for on-going operational planning and for planning in a project context. It will benefit line supervisors and middle management staff, such as section heads and team leaders, who have some responsibility for day-to-day planning activities or who are involved in a project management team within their more conventional management roles.

The objectives of this course are to provide participants with the ability to:

• Fully appreciate the ways in which businesses operate, and the impact of the "resilience quotient" on its performance both in the short and long term.
• Demonstrate knowledge of effective project management techniques and their application in a performance improvement context.
• Assess and competently manage risk in terms of minimising the downside factors and optimising the upside opportunities that are present in an ever-changing global trading environment.
• Critically analyse and evaluate best practice solutions identifying those best suited to their own business application ensuring all aspects of risk management are considered.
• Devise and utilise effective process improvement techniques which are capable of ensuring increased and sustainable levels of operational performance.
• Lead in the planning of integrated operations using and applying checklists and models for the planning and improvement of existing networks and resources appreciating the need for collaborative behaviour from all stakeholders.
