For many procurement professionals it is true to say that their understanding of some of the advanced tools of their trade is less than perfect, and in many cases no more than theoretical.

This unique 3-day course gives the opportunity for procurement professionals to develop a full understanding of modern techniques and to put them into practice in a realistic simulation context. Participants leave the course with valuable skills they can put into immediate use.

A strategic approach to procurement can give organisations a competitive advantage by maximising benefits received in return for spend.
Positioning/Procurement Targeting techniques, develop and implement appropriate supplier relationships and agreements, evaluate the market environment, understand the need for market intelligence and recognise the wide range of pricing approaches employed by suppliers.
They also become aware of suppliers' perceptions and the concept of the supplier's "Key Account Management" and the need to develop their approach in order to manage inter-functional relationships with internal customers. 

Your staff develop the ability to apply the Total Cost of Ownership (TCoO) concept and Supply.
This course is designed for experienced purchasing staff, such as;

The course provides participants with:
  • current procurement best practice used for purchasing both goods and services
  • approaches and techniques for Vendor Base Management covering supplier selection, vendor rating and supplier development

  • the benefits from developing strategies through enhanced understanding of the supplier's viewpoint
  • approaches and techniques for Sustainable Development
Delegates are encouraged to bring along workplace examples that can be used/worked on during the course. Course content is flexible, timings and content within the course framework and timescale will be adjusted to suit delegate and tutor requirements.
